Growing a garden is one of THE most exciting things you can do on a homestead! The feeling of fresh soil between your fingers, turning over the dirt, and then watching your little seedling grow into a full grown plant is one of the most incredible feelings. Or maybe you’re doing starters, (I personally love starters) and you’re going to plant them and watch them grow to produce big and beautiful fruits and veggies. Whichever you choose you have them planted, they begin to grow and then they putter out.
Hold up? What! Why did they stop growing?
First and foremost, did you check your soil? Did you pour 5 bags of potting soil onto the ground and expect that to do the job? No. That won’t work. No matter where you live or what you’re growing don’t forget that your plants need the natural soil in YOUR area! Dig up that all natural dirt, mix it with the bagged soil, and watch your plants THRIVE!
Doing raised beds? Potted veggies? Hanging plants? or even market rows? Whatever method you choose make sure to use the all natural God given soil that grows in your area. Take this advice and watch your garden grow luscious for all season long!
