Spring is right around the corner, right? Well not quite unless of course you’re planting spring bulbs. Then you’d better get to it. As you clean up and wind down your fall garden don’t forget to plant some bulbs that you can forget about and enjoy come springtime.
When I was in elementary we had a school project that included planting some bulbs in the fall so we could enjoy them blooming in the spring. I don’t remember what grade I was in, who my teacher was, or the lesson taught but man do I remember those flowers! They grew year after year and looked beautiful each and every time. There was a Tulip and a Daffodil and I got excited each spring as they would bloom. I can probably attribute my love for gardening to seeing those plants come up each and every year. The lessons learned from the garden spill over into every area of life too. Learning that a little bit of hard work done right in the beginning will reap a great deal in the seasons to come. This applies to gardening and life.
This fall, prep your gardens for spring. Plant what needs to be in the ground all winter to grow to its fullest potential and get excited that come spring time you’ll have beautiful flowers blessing your homestead just as the spring season kicks off.
This year we are planting some flowers that we hope to sell to raise money for #toussaintfarms (more details on this coming soon)If you’re local to Escambia or Santa Rosa counties and would like to purchase some come spring. Let me know and I’ll reserve your order.
