I love homesteading and I love writing so it only makes sense to bring the passions together the thing is, not everyone is supportive. On more than one occassion I’ve been informed that all of this writing is stupid or a waste of my time. It’s often discouraging to be told these things but it hasn’t stopped me from writing. If anything, it has encouraged me to continue on because small minded people will never understand when you try to do something bigger for yourself. So, here’s 5 reasons why I write.
One of the single biggest reasons I write is for myself. I love writing. I love honing my skills and learning new and better ways to express my thoughts. I love using writing as a creative outlet to put my thoughts together in a way that makes sense to myself and to others. Some like theatre, some like painting, some like cooking, I like writing. I write, for me!
While public speaking isn’t my strongest skill I love to write out my thoughts and share them through cohesive well thought out, planned, and put together sentences. I love that through writing I am able to share with others my passion for homesteading. I love that through writing others are able to learn about homesteading and then grow in their abilities as well. Homesteading is often overlooked in our society or often lumped in there with farming but it’s an entirely different entity and deserves to be highlighted as such. That’s why I write. To call attention to the lost art of homesteading with hopes that others will pick up on homesteading as they read along.
For My Family
While I didn’t start out this way, I love that writing is able to help provide a small income for my family. Through this website I’m able to hone my creative skills, educate others, and provide a few extra dollars each month to put towards our goals. When I say it provides a small income I mean SMALL but it provides enough to leave me with the hope that someday our lives will be even better than they are today and that maybe we’ll be able to work for and invest in our own dreams instead of just building the dreams and businesses of others.
If you have any specific questions about homesteading or blogging feel free to ask in the comments below! I’d love to answer whatever it is you’d like to know in hopes that it will help better your life as you pursue your own hopes and dreams!
