Over 6 months ago I wrote an article highlighting my clean, easy, and natural skincare. I shared about what went right about it and what went wrong aka The Homesteading Disaster, and now, here we are 6 months later and I’d like to share with you what I love and what I hate about this all natural routine but first, if you haven’t already, go check out the original post about Homesteading Your Skincare.
The Pros: I absolutely love how it makes my skin feel! I love the soft supple, moisturized skintone I’m left with after using this product! I love that it’s safe for my skin, safe for my body, and safe for the environment.
The Cons: This can get messy in the shower, can cause a buildup on your skin if not washed off properly, can mess up your drains if you aren’t careful about how much you’re using and can look like a snack for your pup!
So if you haven’t figured it out yet, what is this miracle product?
Coconut Oil has been a game changer in my skincare routine, not just for my face but for my budget and body as well! I’ve cut out all other makeup removing or skin cleansing products from my routine and now use only coconut oil. I spend less than $15 for a large tub of it and it will last me 6 months!
While I still will get the occasional breakout from time to time (which I believe is due to hormones & sugar) my skin is much clearer, softer and even than it ever was before. It also stays moisturized even during these colder/dryer months thanks to purchasing Nutiva Coconut Oil at Target. If you’re just getting started with using Coconut Oil I’d highly recommend this one because it’s cost effective, easy to find in stores, and can be used for other things if you end up discovering that coconut oil skincare isn’t for you! (but I honestly think you’ll love it if you give it a try)
